This second version of the toolkit was produced by the guidelines group of the North West Regional Transfusion Committee incorporating North Wales. The following management flow charts taken from the toolkit can be adapted by Trusts to meet their individual requirements and local constraints.
They are aimed at:
- junior doctors and senior nurses who may be the first people to see the patient and must be able to recognise the early stages of major haemorrhage and know when and who to call for support
- senior staff called as part of the emergency response team
- laboratory and supporting staff.
